WHAT IS LUFFA?
Luffa is a gourd grown on vines with beautiful yellow flowers. It is often eaten like a zucchini if harvested under 8 inches. If left to grow and dry, it becomes the sponges we know so well.
BENEFITS OF A LUFFA?
The fibrous texture when dampened (even better with soap) exfoliates the skin. Used in a circular motion doubles the massaging qualities. Fantastic, like FANTASTIC in ridding callus on the feet, even great for cuticles, especially after gardening. The Longer you use it, the softer it gets!
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
If kept in a shower or in a dish, consider changing 4-6 weeks to avoid any bacterial buildup. They last longer when taken care of by either hang drying or if in a dish, I place a stone under for air flow. If your beautiful piece is just about done in the bath, DON'T THROW IT OUT!! You can continue to use it in the kitchen for dishes, and of course biodegradable when the soap is gone.
